I am a “Bodyrocker” and one of the big reasons I created this blog was to create a place to connect and share with other moms, record results and experiences for our daily workouts.
Here is the Bodyrock link. Once you get to the site click on “Home workouts”, and then go into “All Workouts” and click on the post that is 3 days behind. I workout 3 days behind the Bodyrock posts so I don’t have to worry about when they are going to updated it for each day. Each morning I will post my results for the workout of that day and I hope the rest of you will join me. If you would like to have that extra push and accountability, click the link to follow the Memom Body-n-mind blog and each week the daily posting will be reviewed. If there is anyone who needs some extra motivation an email with some words of encouragement can be sent. Speaking from experience this is best coming from a third party person…a husband offering the…and I quote “don’t you need to be working out”, in a very supportive way, doesn’t always have the same affect…trust me, or you can ask my husband. If you check out the site and think, that you would rather go for a run or hike or some other kind of physical activity, please still log your daily workout, and get connected…us moms need to feel connected.

So get your journal book to record your times and numbers…because you’ll want to refer back and see how much you’ve improved over time and then you can set out to beat YOUR personal best.

Here is a link for a free online interval timer that you can use for the workouts.
Remember to always do a warm-up and stretch and a cool-down and stretch for each workout…the Bodyrock site has an example of those posted as well.

New Booty Workout

I did manage to get this workout in this morning and then for cool down I cleaned and vacuumed my house :) The time for this workout ticked away and as I did the 4 minutes of interval training I had alot of thoughts to keep me company and feed my drive or need for an outlet to defuse some frustration.
Part 2 took me 6:11. To top this workout off I am actually entering it on the same day it was completed.

360 Rep Badass workout

I remember doing this workout on Tuesday afternoon outside in the summer's heat.  Even in the shade it was hot hot hot. But, I love it.  I'm still feeling this one today and I think most of the soreness is from the plank jump and stretch.  By the last few of those I was flopping around trying to keep my balance...not pretty. It took me 31:29 to complete this workout.

With summer and the fun that comes with that and having the kids home I am going to once again try to workout in the wee hours of the morning to make sure the day doesn't get away with me and I have an opportunity to complete a workout.  So starting on Thursday I will be sweating to the rising of the sun. That almost sounds like a title to some song...I should google that :) Cheers

It's Just Me

It has been awhile since I've entered my workout information into my blog but l still have been doing them.  I can't remember what day I actually did these workouts and alot of the days have been filled with swimming laps in the pool and playing with the kids. So with that being said and me going to make and effort this July to keep up with the updates here are the workouts that I have recorded.

Dead Man's Burpees Challenge

Holy Mother I nearly fell over by the time the 10 minutes were over which took forever, but at the same time the seconds ticked away while I was trying to reach that oh so painful 100.  110 burpees later and sweating and panting...I can honestly say that I will for sure keel over to reach 125...I hope that challenge is in the far future.

See Your Abs Workout

Yesterday I did this pool side while the kids were swimming...they were cheering me on during the running intervals...and counting the knee ups to make sure I didn't miss one of the 60 or so...after I was done I went for a cool dip to stretch and catch my breath.

Amazing Fat Burn Workout

I was panting after the first part of this workout and by the end of the second part I was done...Squats...oh how I really do not like them :(  The 12 reps for the second part took me 12:00...I hope I can move tomorrow?

Days off

Monday and Tuesday were days of active rest...which means I did laundry and cleaned!!! Fun fun fun. It almost makes those burpees look intriguing...almost

300 Rep Workout Personal Best #3

I coudn't find the workout posting for this day so I decided to do this one because the 365 reps didn't totally finished me off.  I completed this in 26:29, which is very very close to my last time.

Saturday evening was when I did this workout after a morning of climbing.  The one arm push-ups finished me.  I completed this workout in 33:41 and then I went to bed.

Survivor Workout #2

Once again I didn't have time to check out my old scores for this, so I'll have to scroll back and see how I did. It was smoking hot when I did this workout poolside and man, was I sweating...I was physically sliding on the mat when I was doing the one arm press-ups...needless to say I went for cool dip after this one.  I only did half of the 1 legged squats because the bus was coming at the end of the day with the kiddies, so I made up for it in the pool...and can I just say, a little buoyancy goes a long way :)
Backward Lunge Kick-up left 22, 19
Backward Lunge Kick-up Right 20, 18
One Arm press up 9, 9
2 kick-ups and Break dance Push-ups 5, 5
Pike Jump and Squat Jump 10, 10

Part 2 finished 11 sets in what time I'm not sure...I accidentally hit the clear button when I stopped the time.

Give Me Everything Workout

Well I was wondering what I missed after thinking I was finished this workout and then saw that I still had 2 rounds to go...that extra set of jumping jacks...Oh well, I made up for it by jumping in the pool after and doing jump squats up and down the pool with a little 45 pound mermaid attached to my back and them we did some jump lunges, and some laps, so I think I'm good.  Here's my numbers.

One Leg Dead Lift Left 17, 16
One Leg Dead Lift Right 17, 16
Jump Jacks 50, 52
Knee Raises 19, 20
Breakdance Push-ups 7, 7

Beat Me In Burpees Challenge

I did this workout today (Wednesday)...Tuesday was a day of rest and swimming with a walk to the park...So 10 minutes of Burpees...who would have thought you could add another twist to this exercise...but here it is the "Dedicated Burpee", fun, fun.  I completed 55 sets in the 10 minutes.

600 Rep Fat Burner Workout

Monday was a day of brutal sweating, and wow this workout was tough.  The first set of reps took me 25:19. I was dripping after this and still had to do another round....so by the time I got to the 3D push-ups I was done, so instead of finishing it there I just left this out and went on to the next exercise.  The second set of reps minus the push-ups took me 25:23.  I literally was a sweating red mess.  This one I can't wait to try again and go for the full 600.  I liked this workout alot more than the 400 because it had more variety in type of exercises...only one set of burpees..ya

Second attempt at the 400 Rep Workout

Sunday I took another crack at the 400 rep workout and I could only get through 2 sets. The first set took me 14:30 and the second set took me to a total of 31:55 minutes.  Went swimming after and did some laps to cool down and stretch out the shoulders and arms...one day I'll do it again, but not today.

Another Day of Bouldering

It's amazing the power of - Mind over Matter -...You see where you want to go, and then it starts..."How will it get there, can I get there... all those...what if questions"...Today I tried a more visual approach, which seemed to help with "letting go" of both the rock and the "questioning"....Here I go...and voila'...I had the hold...

450 rep workout

Yesterday I tried to do some of this workout...my youngest allowed me to do 1 of the 4 sets of the insane burpees.  The set that I did complete took me 18 minutes, which is kind of scary considering I was still had another 3 to do...???  Sunday I'll see about doing the whole thing...I'm already sweating just thinking about it.

Day Off

Today I didn't manage a workout, because I was recovering from all those squats...I'm still feeling them :(

Game On! 300 Squats Challenge

THIS WAS NASTY!!!...Squats are truly my weakness...I really thought I would never get done. 20:21....forever, and by the end I was a shaking sweating heap..that couldn't make it down the stairs.  I had to do the bum slide down..very sad indeed. I guess one day soon I'll have to repay this one a visit and see if I can shave off a minute.

Run The World Workout

I enjoyed this workout by the pool while the kids went for a swim...they kept count for me!

Backward Lunge/Side Lunge jump 14, 10, 12, 13, 14, 12
Crazy Cali Exercise Combo (in 4 mins) 26 sets
Side Crunch (thought I was going to split open :() 18, 18, 18, 18, 18, 16

Hot Attack Workout

I was all caught up, but now, well...only 2 days behind in the postings.  So here we go...I've really had to give my arse a kick while doing these workouts...just can't seem to shift it into a higher gear.  Those one legged squats are still in the far, far off future.  I tried the suggestion by another bodyrocker to use a door frame which worked until I had to get up.  Still not enough strength in one leg to go there.
Crab Toe Touch 36, 31
Dive Bombers 9, 7

Jump Lunge/Mountain Climber Combo: there was no entries here...just focused on breathing

One Leg Hot Attack Exercise 6, 5
Thigh Shrinker Exercise 14, 16

After the workout I went for a 20 minute run.

Sunday's Sun

Today we took the opportunity to enjoy the afternoon in the sun.  We played in the pool and floated about..then we took the bike out for a tour.  It's amazing how every activity requires it's own muscles...my knees felt the biking the most...and then when the kids went to bed I had an evening swim which was awesome...24 laps and some lunges, jumping jacks, high knees and jump squats in the water.  It's funny how it doesn't seem so hard in the water and your muscles seem to handle more...until you get out and then the gravity of what you just did hits...:) Tomorrow I'll start the bodyrock routines again.

All Up Hill

I found out today that bouldering is way harder than rope climbing.  So next week they are going to set me up with a harness and someone to show me the ropes...haha get it...ya well..I thought it was pretty snappy.  The bouldering was really good today and I got through some routes that seemed impossible the week before.  Then I came home and enjoyed a swim in the pool and did alittle class of aqua fitness with my youngest crew member :)loving those jump lunges in the water.

Friday friday friday

I didn't get a workout in today.  I was up late the night before and today was one of those run around days...which could classify as a workout,,,I was sweatin :)
We have the pool open now, so I'm looking forward to adding the swim at the end of the workouts as my added cardio...now I have to find my bathing suits....tomorrow is bouldering

Set Fire Workout Do-over

Thursday I did this workout again and did improve on my scores, but for some reason I really had to push myself through it.  Maybe now with the sunny weather I'm going to take these workouts pool side and it will renew my inspiration...here are my scores.

sliding push-ups from my knees; 8, 7, 8, 7

Take it off Workout

This week has been a bit confusing with the Bodyrock postings and the workouts being really short. Wednesday I wanted something longer than 4 minutes so I did this workout..although I was just looking on the site and saw there is a workout called "dirty bit" which I haven't done yet either..hmmm
Well anyways here are my scores for this workout.

Three days off

I'm sitting here with my morning coffee trying to figure out where the week went and how behind I am on my entries. So lets get some updates done. Sunday I hosted a baby shower for my sister and enjoyed the day with a group of amazing ladies. Monday and Tuesday I took off because I was needing a little rest from the weekend. Listening to the body is important even though we sometimes don't like to hear what it has to say. :)

Boulder Day

This morning I went out with my oldest and went bouldering.  It's funny when you sit and watch the climbers.  Everyone has a different style...it's like dancing on a wall, while hanging...That was my workout today...just an easy day.

Put it Down on Me Workout

This was Fridays Workout, and I got it done in the afternoon.  I wasn't going to do it but I told that little voice that I had to time to look after myself...and I always feel better after the workout.  So here are my scores.

I'm very behind in my updates...but I have been doing the workouts so here are my thoughts.  I did this one on Thursday and all went well..I've been a bit sore with a rib giving me trouble but everything was put back into place on Wednesday and it's feeling alot better...in the evening a girlfriend and I went for a run and to start off the trek we did a quick fix of the 6 minute workout...got the heart rate going and I found it much easier to ease into the run...I think she said the run was 3 or 4 k...here are my scores for the morning workout.

6 Min Workout

Yesterday I read the details for this workout and thought like most, "6 minutes...wow what a breeze...ya I'll do this three times for sure to work up a sweat".  Well just like others who thought the same by the 7th round I was dying...wow...I did 2 sets of this and some abs and stretching and I was done.  The saying " A little goes a long way", rings true for sure.

Hot Body Workout

I squeezed this workout in yesterday after getting home from selling some plants for a school shin-dig and getting ready to cook a Mother's Day dinner. I'm glad I did it, I helps me take the edge off my mood even though I'm fighting a sinus thing...maybe all that extra blood flow will increase the recovery time...lets hope!! Today however, I just took it somewhat easy and did some outside chores, gardening, cleaned the car...enjoyed the sunshine!!!  Here are my scores:

Reptile Push-ups : 15, 11, 14 (these are brutal, brutal, brutal)

Cut the Cheese Workout

Yesterday I took the day off and let my body recover from the last few days.  Today I tucked this workout in the afternoon, while my little one looked on and kept asking me if I was ok!!!, Oh to know that someone cares...I must have looked a sight for such concern.  I liked the breakdown for this workout, it was a nice mix-up.  The plank reptiles were really something...but with the help of my little coach I got through it...here are my scores:

ABs Now! Workout

This afternoon I did this workout which I huffed and puffed through.  By the end my abs were burning along with my thighs, butt and shoulders.  The super girl planks were fun fun...almost tied with the sumo squats and jump lunges, but the winner for me today was the jump forwards/2jump backs...burn burn.  I completed this workout in 22:53 and did have Cargo with me for the ride...I was done and tired after finishing up...tomorrow might be a total rest day for me...we'll see.

Bouldering Again

Saturday rock climbing classes started again, so I hit the bouldering walls and had some good climbs.  I got some great tips from other climbers regarding techniques to try so I'll put them into action this week or at least try.  My forearms and shoulders are feeling it today.

Friday Fun day

We decided to take the kids out for a FUN Friday to Fallsview Waterpark and we had a blast.  I didn't need to do any kind of workout because combined with the swimming, the climbing and the stair climbing up the many many many flights of stairs to the top of the water slides all my muscle groups had attention.  When we got home I did a stretch and then hit the hay...and dreamed about floating on the waves...

1000 Jumping Jacks Challenge

Ok so my question here is what is consider a rep for this exercise...it sounds like "half" of a jumping jack is a rep...if that's the cause I just did 2000 reps, because I counted the "whole"jumping jack as 1 rep...which darn near killed me...17 mins it took...and just to start off the workout I did the summer abs workout again and beat my personal time with 11:41...pat on the back.  I'll be dawning on a bathing suit for the first time this year and taking the kiddies to the indoor water park...will be a blast.

Wednesday, April 27, 2011

yeah! Workout

Yesterday I took the day off...let the body have a little breather.  Today I did this workout which again proved to be a thinker...and a bit destructive.  I took out the karaoke machine and the plant on the piano...no major causalities :) with the monkey kicks,  finished the first part in 4:11.  The mountain climber were brutal and since I already leveled my room on the first part I didn't do the cart wheel but a low lunge side to side.  I average 23-28 mountain climbers per rep.  The 3rd part really burned, completed in 7:01.

Exercise Challenge - 60 Get up

Today was one of those busy busy days...lots of running around, but I managed to get this in.  Completed the 60 with the company of Cargo in 6:17.  Since I was sweating and still had energy to burn I decided to go for a run...which ended up in the rain, but it was refreshing...toured the blocks for 20 mins and then took the pooch out for a walk to cool down.  The first 5 minutes of a run for me are always the worse...it's like my body is protesting and then if I push and don't stop it will give up and then it's more enjoyable.  I think I'll rotate from a run to skipping when the challenges come up.

Summer Abs Workout

I seem to be making this a habit...always entering 1 day behind..I'll work on that.  At first glance all I saw for this workout was the reps and then I scrolled down and read that we had to do it 5 times.  Well....I would still be doing them if I didn't read the full directions, thank goodness.  50 reps x 5 as I originally thought would kill me I think...really.  So after reading the instructions and noting the times I got to it.  I completed this workout in 12:32.  The 4 mins of high knees and Pendulum which was tough averaged on 48/28.

Butt and Fat Loss Workout

I don't think I've done this workout before so I have no other results to compare this too.  I was able to get this done before the rain came.  It's so nice to workout in the great outdoors!!!  This workout took me 17:04...those darn one leg squats...still not all the way down, but getting closer...

Walk it out

Gardening, hunting for Easter eggs and strolling in this "finally" spring weather was my active rest day today...deep breaths and enjoying the sunshine.

Tight Cheeks Workout

This fun fun training happened on Saturday morning with the assistance of my eldest child recording my results and cheering me on.  That is the only reason there are numbers for the last exercise combo. I am feeling it in my cheeks and core today!!
Sandbag Swing: 17, 17, 17, 18, 15, 16
One leg Half Squat w/ exercise Ball with cargo :3:33
Forward/Backward Lunge with cargo: 12, 12, 12, 12, 12, 12
Exercise combo for butt and core : 6, 8,  5,9  6,9  5,8  6,9  5,9

Pull-up exercise Challenge

Once again I forgot to enter this in, but I did it on Friday, which is the important part.  For the pull-ups I managed 3 on my own and the rest I did assisted on the way up and unassisted on the way down, which explains the major sore arms shoulders and back.  As for the skipping I have concluded that I have a lazy right foot, which I am holding responsible the several whip marks across my A#$.

My Buns Hurt Workout

I'm going to feel this tomorrow, just in time to replace the agony from Monday's ride!  This workout was killer and had me in a puddle of sweat by the end..or maybe it was tears. I finished part 1 in 4:02, part 2 I averaged 5 sets, part 3 I complete in 3:28 with no causalities to the room's contents, and finally part 4...brutal...near the end my legs would no longer respond...I didn't count, I was concentrating on breathing and staying upright...enjoy this one.

Hot In Here Workout

Yesterday I went riding, which I am feeling. This morning I completed this workout which was fun and pretty quick.  The hardest was the pike jumps and push-ups combo.  Part 1 took me 8:18, numbers for part 2 are 4, 4, 3, 3.5, 3, 3.5, and part 3 I finished in 1:19, panting and sweating.  Have fun.

Somewhere I Belong Workout

Yesterday was a Birthday party day, so no workout.  This morning I did this workout and surprised myself by doing 6 reps of the pulls unassisted and the rest assisted on the way up no assisting on the way down (nice and slow).  About 2 hours after completing this my muscles started twitching in my back for over an hour...very annoying since it's in a hard to reach spot...I completed 17 sets in 12 mins.

Hard Bodies Getting Harder Workout

I've been really trying to get my workouts done in the morning/afternoon to see if it makes a difference with my overall "well being" plan.  It definitely requires alot more planning and discipline to schedule it in, but so far, so good.  I did complete this workout yesterday after getting the kids to school. I managed the ninja jumps without face planting, and it was a nice reward once again to see that the extra bulk in my thighs are getting put to good use :) 5 rounds took me 24:36.

If you really want more workout

I did do this yesterday but forgot to enter it.  My brain is on vacation it seems.  Once again looking at the workout was deceiving.  At glance, easy peasy, but not really. Part 1 took me 4:42, part 2 was killer by the end 8, 7, 7, 7, 8, 7, 7, 7, 7 and part 3 took 6:18...another thinker.

What's my name workout

Well the weather was so nice outside I took this workout and did it in the sun/rain depending on the rep...but at least it was warm.  The first 3 parts took me 10 minutes and then I did 20 rounds of skipping.  By the end I was tired and was whipping more than skipping. I'll have to work on that :)

Active Rest

Yesterday I went bouldering and then enjoyed a nice evening walk.  Both the kiddies were sick in the night which left me with 4 hours of broken sleep.  Today I just took it easy and enjoyed the sunshine.  Went for a nice walk to the park with the pooch and then did some yard work.  It totally smells like spring today.  Sweet, warm and fresh.

Not Afraid Workout

This workout was another "thinker".  That crab pike press required thought...but I managed after some practice.  I enjoyed the skipping and burpees outside on our upper balcony.  The birdies thought I was entertaining.  I can't wait for the weather to get a little nicer...then I'm going to move the workout outside pool side...nothing like cool refreshing water.  Here are my results:
Crab Pike Press : 26, 24
High Knees: 45,43,55   55,41,55
Burpees Knee raises :6,5,6    5,5,5
Ninja Lunges: I've found my Ninja mojo finally;;;without face planting 10, 11

Hot Warrior Workout

I've decided or I should say my body has told me that I need to make a few changes in my lifestyle, so I'm listening and going to try and work through the fog and figure out what needs to really change.  One being that I need more sleep, so starting today I'm going to be doing my workouts in the morning or during the day, so I will be rested and ready for bed early...like 10:30!!! Yesterday  I managed 11:00.  My usual is 1:00 or so...so that's one thing, the next is to drink more during the day...so lots of decaf stuff, like teas and good old water. I'm going to start here and see how it goes...almost like bodyrock's diet challenge a step at a time.  So here are my results for this workout with a few adjustments because I didn't add the left and right to the lunges and the crabs...no wonder I had extra sets on my timer...lol oh well.
Backward/forward lunge 15, 13, 11, 11
Core Split 20, 15, 16, 15
Dynamo Push-ups 15, 12, 11, 9,5

This one seemed really long.  At first I had it in my head that it would be 4 rounds, but after doing the math in the fourth round I realized that there was still 2 more to go.  There was a little faltering in the numbers but I got my head back in the game.

CLippity CLop, Giddy Ouch

Yesterday I went for another ride so that being said I am sore today.  I thought I was doing ok, but there is no escaping the dreaded horse rider inner thigh pain...and that #^*$ hip flexor.  I stretched, I really did...looked like a real"pro" or should I say not... stretching before saddling up..lol..Realization.......... I'm not getting younger...or at least my hips aren't.  So stretching today and then I'll do a workout tomorrow...have to be kind to the body...ya ya I'm listening to you.

Hot Mess Workout Beating Personal Best

After bouldering yesterday and the workout the night before I thought I should take the advise from my health care professional and take it easy on the hips..they were stiff last night so I did this today and although I didn't use my sweet little Cargo I did make sure that I did all the squats and lunges as low as I could go.  Round 1 completed in 15:34, old time 20:59. Round 2 completed in 16:27, old time 23:32. Rockin :)

Yesterday

I forgot to update my happenings yesterday, so here they are. I went bouldering and now I'm sore :), But I definitely have more strength than when I started and I can tackle some rock courses that were not doable before.

GAGA for Pocker Face Workout Beating Personal Best

Well I got my workout in tonight...yesterday just didn't happen and tonight almost bit the dust too because my little nano was dead, and I can not workout without the tunes, but 20 mins charging did the trick.  Well...overall I did pretty well and improved in all the numbers except for my last set of right leg round kicks, where my hip just wouldn't do anymore.  Here are my numbers:

Round kick knee: 14, 15, 14, 9

Hot Curves Challenge

I've had to take it a little easy with the workouts so I took yesterday off.  I had my hip checked out and it seems I have some fluid there...although he also said that I was retaining alot of fluid everywhere and he was questioning my increase in muscle mass in such a sort amount of time.  NICE...That being said and a few words I passed onto the osteopath...I'm feeling not too bad, but I'm supposed to take things easy where it involves ... let me see how he said it "spreading my hips open", now how can one keep a straight face to that...even from a professional.lol.....so lots of stretching is needed before.............horseback riding, climbing, and workouts of any kind...as for this challenge...don't worry I did alot of stretching :) 41 sets.

Red Hot Workout

The sitting pull-ups were painful...my wrist were killing me...this exercise is where I lost most of my time 9 minutes!!!...The high knees are getting better and better, and surprisingly those crazy push-ups were ok until I got to 40 and then it got severely shaky.  My total time for this workout was 27 minutes...

A Walk about

Yesterday Porsha our pooch and I went for a nice walk...I've had to slow down my pace for her.  I can't believe she's going to be 11 years old..that's like 77 in dog years.  Anyways, then I walked downtown for a coffee date...Gotta love those

4 Minute Workout

I added this to the end of the crazy around the world workout today since I was already all sweaty and figured it was "JUST" 4 minutes...wow...my poor poor legs...and the push-ups finished anything left in my chest and shoulders. Here is my results:

Push-ups: 5, 4, 4, 3, 3.5, 3.5
Jumps: 3.5, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3

Just Can't Get Enough Workout

This workout required some major brain power...hockey...I actually had to practise it for several minutes before I got the right idea...that being said I finished the 60 reps in 12:09....and boy I thought it would be the shoulders that would be burning the most, but it was the legs...I did 15 minutes of skipping this morning with the girls outside...and I am going to give myself a little pat on the back for being brave enough to do it at the front of the house for all the neighbours to see, but a pleasant surprise is that somehow, somewhere I have acquired coordination for this "skipping"thing.  I gave myself a little thrill by being able to do cross overs, high knees and scissors without whipping myself...amazing and I will have admit...FUN...skipping here I come.

Lose Yourself Workout

When technology goes to pot it sure can throw a wrench into the schedule, but not my workouts...just the posting part...that being said this workout had my head spinning...wow I really found it intense...Darn those Dive bombers, my shoulders and chest are killing me today...maybe I can find someone here who will have pity on me and give me a massage :) I also did some skipping outside with this awesome spring weather...so nice finally...It appears that my "fake" skipping has paid off because the whipping myself ratio to skipping has drastically dropped and I was actually working up a sweat instead of bruises, so keeping practising. Here are my numbers
Dive Bombers: 12, 9, 6.5, 6
Sandbag Squat/Lunge : 13, 14, 14, 14
Hanging Knee raises: 24, 20, 17, 18
Snowboarder: 17, 23, 20, 20

Mr.Vain Workout Challenge

This one really made you think about what you were doing..30 was my total...right form?...it's hard to tell from that angle :) I also did the push-ups at the end and some abs with the stability ball...add a little extra burn.  No skipping...I have to get my arse in gear with that.

Only Girl in the World Workout

Yesterday I took the pooch out for a nice long walk to enjoy the beautiful weather and that helped stretch out that darn hip flexor, which is feeling better.  Today I did this workout which was actually not too bad...I used the Cargo for the lunge chops but not the squats...and man who would have thought that 20 seconds, 8 times could feel a lot longer.  Here are my results,
Lunge Chop 29, 34, 30, 30
Side Jump & Santana push-up 7, 7, 7, 6
round trip jump squat, 27, 28, 30, 26
High knees..fun fun fun

Pretty Fly Exercise Challenge

Yesterday it got late and I didn't get my workout in, but I did it today and maybe tonight I'll fit another one in...I'll see.  I wanted to get 17 sets done, better luck next time...I completed 15 sets...and that right hip flexor is still giving me grief so I think it's time for some intervention.  Hope everyone is having a great weekend and a fun start to the March Break.

Set Fire Workout

I had time this morning to fit this workout in so I went for it!!! Those sliding push-ups were brutal, and required more coordination than putting mascara on...I think I was even making the "face".  I switched between doing the sliding ones on my knees to doing normal push-ups full form. Here are my numbers
Mountain Climber Lunges: 6, 6, 7, 7
Sliding Push-ups:3 not on knees, 3 on knees, 9 normal, 7 sliding knee, 6 normal

Reverse Push-up w/ knee tuck:10, 10, 11, 10

Best Butt Exercise Challenge

I think I did get things a little mixed up with the workout order, sorry. But, (haha) for those who did this workout, now you can comment on your results.  I did 10 sets of one legged squats and then I did 50 butt down to the floor and slowly all the way up 2 legged squats.  The 20 mins of skipping was fun and then I did some stability ball abs exercises.  The right hip flexor is still giving me grief, lots of stretching was done after this workout.

550 Rep Massacre Workout

I think this is the one we're supposed to do today..oh well, it's done and it wasn't too bad until my right hip flexor decided to kink up again, but I managed.  The push-ups I got to 25 until I had to break them into sets of 5 that took me to 50.  I think we'll feel this in our butts and hamstrings tomorrow. Don't forget to stretch.  My time for this was 28:01.

Rest Day

No workout for me tonight, just some serious stretching and 3 sets of push-ups.  I'm still trying to get my body to stand upright when I walk...so I'm giving myself a little breather until tomorrow's 550 rep fun.
I have a coffee date with a girlfriend which will be fun, now if only it didn't kill when I try to cross my legs, I guess that will promote good sitting posture. cheers

Halo Of Sweat Workout

This morning I had another date with Lilly at the barn, and man were my legs already hurting half way through the ride, which is bad sign on what's to come.  So since I was already sweaty and really smelly I figured I might as well do the workout before hitting the shower. Now I have had tightness in my hip flexors before, but never a cramp, and HOLY #^&%, does that hurt.  It attacked during the those darn reptiles and I'm still trying to stretch it out. The results were ok for this one...I did make sure I did the full arm form for the push-ups which felt so great with my already sore chest, and now I have the matching legs and abs to go with it...Perfect...I'll be walking pretty tomorrow, here are my reps:
Sumo Jumps w/knee ups: 14, 15, 15
Sumo Pulse Calve raise: 23, 23, 21
Reptile on the run: 40, 30, 19
Reptile Push-ups, 2, 2, 2
Knee Hugs: 16, 11, 9
Ab burn out: 39, 37, 42

Counter Strike Fat Workout

I can not lie, when I saw this workout the first thought that popped into my head was, "this is going to suck".  My chest and shoulders are still sore from all the climbing and workout the day before, so a whole 12 minutes of push-ups was not on the top of my fun to do list.  Considering that, I'm really happy with my score on this workout.  I did not do one chicken peck...and I have a very sore throbbing chest and shoulders to prove it...I completed 31 reps...I haven't looked at tomorrow's workout but I'm hoping that it has to do with legs...I can't believe I just said that ;)

The Trainer Who Loved Me Workout

I remember this workout, and those star lifts.  By the time I got to the monkey business my legs where shaking on the way up and back down from the jumps.  I had no strength left in my arms for the full set of push-ups for this.  I went bouldering again this morning for 1.5 hrs which was awesome, but used up a lot of my upper body strength for the day, so I manage to do 45 plain old push-ups with the break dance move and then the rest from my knees. My time was 32:08.

You Push Me Workout

Well I have a funny story why I didn't manage a workout yesterday and it has to do with a little or maybe big pot of Holy Basil Tea that was seeping over night.  You see, I often like to sip on cold tea instead of drinking plain old water, so I poured myself several glasses of this tea in the afternoon and sipped away happily.  Lots of you know that I've been trying new and adventurous healthy food items lately and this tea is one of them.  I guess I should have read the bag more closely, which states "a key rejuvenating tonics in Ayurveda.  For centuries, the herb was used before meditation in order to calm the mind and encourage a blissful state", well that explains alot. Before I passed out at 8:00 I was floating around in a blissful state alright, so walking a straight line was out of the question never mind a workout :)  Just keeping it fresh...haha...Did the workout tonight...left out Cargo because my quads really don't need any help getting bigger, so I'm just trying to increase the reps. Also did the extra push-ups to work towards that 30 goal.  Here are my scores,
Kick over and Knee raise : 16, 15, 13.5
Side jump lunge : 50, 49, 45
Reptile push-up alternating : 19, 15, 10
Squat ; 19, 18, 18
High Knees : 110, 100, 115

On the Floor - Abs Challenge

I'm still walking funny today, as one of you pointed out :) Due to the horseback riding.  It's funny but it sort of assures me that I'm doing it right.  As for this workout...at first I thought it looked really easy and I would be whipping through the reps and posting some really impressive sets...not so much.
The mountain climbers were great, but those straight leg lifts with the arms over the head at me sweating. I managed to get 5 sets of 20 completed in 10 minutes plus  I worked on my push-ups and did 3 sets of 6 full slow push-ups and in between I did some chin-ups for fun.

Survivor Workout

My inner thighs were killing me before doing this workout but they're right when they say that working out will help make your sore muscles feel better...until tomorrow morning :(...For this workout I found the break dance push-ups really hard to coordinate because my arms were too close to my body after finishing the kicks so I spent most of my time shifting around my feet.  As for the one-legged squat...I'm still working on building strength in the 2 legs so that's what I did...used both for that exercise.

I think I'm going to revise my push-up challenge to a number that will be a little more attainable for me..30..and who knows with the training maybe I'll surprise myself...but for now that's the goal.
Backwards lunge w/kick-up left: 22, 19
Backwards lunge w/kick-up right: 22, 20
One arm Press-up: 10, 10
2 Kick-up, w/break dance push-up: 7, 4
Pike Jump and Squat Jump: 8, 8

Squats with jump tuck, 50 reps in 5 minutes.

No Fear Exercise Challenge

Today was one of those days where you feel like you got alot accomplished.  I headed to the barn and Lilly and I had a nice morning ride. For a half and hour I was squeezing my thighs together to hold on for dear life while we trotted and cantered around the arena.  Actually I wasn't that bad...it's like riding a bike, except this bike has it's own mind...as per the thigh death grip which I will be feeling tomorrow morning...A good stretch will be in the cards for tonight.  Took the pooch out for a nice afternoon walk and then this evening I had my 3..yes 3...counters for my push-up challenge.  Well I would be lying if I didn't say I was a little disappointed with my reps.  I managed 12 with solid form ( this coming from my personal critique..Steve) and another 5 that slowly deteriorated into the dreaded chicken peck...so I have my work cut out for me to get to 50 full form push-ups. Every other day I will be doing 12 push-ups full form...no pecking, then keep adding 2 more each week.  So if we do the math the date for the big 50 will be June 21 the first day of summer.  No ninja jumps for me tonight, but I'll be back at the scheduled workout tomorrow..can't wait to see how everyone did for this one.

Sunday, February 27, 2011

I Challenge You!

So here is my challenge. To see how many full form push-ups you can do in one round. Tomorrow I'm going to see how many I can do and Steve has so kindly offered to watch and make sure I keep my form.  My goal...well depends on how I do tomorrow, is 50. So who's up for the challenge.

The other element I will be adding to the workouts is the skipping, sigh...I'm going to clean out a space under the pool deck and do the 20 minutes...hopefully this will help bulk down my quads.  My luck the only place I'll bulk down is my chest...Maybe the push-ups will compensate and build a little more bulk muscle there :) A girl can hope ya know.

Quantum of Sweat Workout

I know I've done this workout before but I can't find my entry for the numbers.  My arms and shoulders are a little sore from the climbing yesterday, but not as bad as they have been so that's a good sign. Next time I'm going to try and up the reps on my jacks... but my reverse pull-ups have gotten a lot better.  Here are my results:
One leg skipping: 106 Left, 110 r, 97 l, 97 l
Roll over Commando push-ups: 10, 8, 7, 7
Low Jacks: 50, 50, 53, 49
Reverse Push-ups: 13, 10, 12, 10

I'm crazy But You Like it! Exercise Challenge

Today I enjoyed another 1.5 hours of bouldering which was so much fun.  There's a great group of gals there and it's nice to have that extra motivation and camaraderie.  I finally manage to climb this one group of rocks that have been giving me grief.  What an awesome feeling after conquering that one.  So this afternoon I figured I'd go for this workout so I would have a free evening.  I was trying to get to 60 reps in the 10 mins., but only managed 52. Not bad.

Sumo Squat Step up Exercise Challenge

I was going to do this last night, but then I couldn't turn down a coffee date with a girlfriend...you have to take those when you can.  I had a great time as always with her and as always was given a great perspective. So this morning I did this challenge and tonight I will do the next workout. I did 20 reps on a leg and then switch to the other side to complete a total of 100 reps on each leg.  My time was 19 minutes 18 seconds...that include 2 interruptions from my little one :)

Attacking Hot Warrior Workout

Wow, quite the name for this one.  As you can tell I skipped out on my workout yesterday...I've been in a bit of a funk I guess you can say, plus dive bombers and me just don't get along...the last time I did them, Steve was ready to call 911, because I thought I was having a heart attack...something about the motion triggering acid reflex...nice...anywho...I did today's, and I already can tell that my abs are going to be a little sore tomorrow from those crabs and core splits.  Kind of gave me a new perceptive for those gymnasts on those side by side bars.  Here are my numbers:
Lunges with Cargo right:15, 14, 13
Lunges with Cargo left: 14, 12, 14

New 400 Rep Workout

I still can't even see straight after this torture. I could only complete 3 sets of this and then for the 4th I took out most of the burpees, if there was something else to the exercise...like the sumo squats...I just did 40 of those without the burpees, pull-ups, etc.  My arms were just done.  I went bouldering this morning for 1.5 hours so that did me in for this workout.  My heart rate is still racing.  It took me 1 hour 24 minutes and 36 seconds to complete what I did for this workout...crazy crazy....It would be interesting to revisit this one in a few months...I'm already getting worries about the 450 reps challenge...my arms are going to be sooooo sore tomorrow.

Thursday, February 17, 2011

Touch it! Exercise Challenge

My upper Abs are so sore along with my quads from yesterdays workout, but I sucked it up and did the 10 minute challenge for today.  I managed to complete 38 sets of the sumo jump knee-ups in 10 minutes.  I'm skipping the cardio, (haha, get it...skipping)...ya I'm headed to bed, til tomorrow.

Hot Mess Workout

I can't get my legs to stop shaking.  They're in some sort of shock...and I don't blame them.  My lower body is done like dinner.  For the first 5 rounds I used Cargo at 35lbs where it was needed...on my way back down, from the 2 round down which I guess would be round 7,  I had to forgo Cargo for the squats, and just use my own body weight which was proving to still be more than enough of a challenge. Finished it finally and now will have to find some cosy baggy pants to put on cause my quads are all bulked up.  The first 5 rounds took me 20:59 minutes.  The second 5 rounds took me 23:32 minutes.

Tik-Tok Exercise Challenge

When I finished this workout I thought..."was I supposed to recorded something?"...and yes I was.  So no, I don't have any numbers for this workout.  I can tell you however by the second set of high knees running I was feeling somewhat pukeish, but manage to finished the whole workout in one piece.  I already starting getting myself psyched for the 400 rep workout. Have fun...

GAGA for Pocker Face Workout

Getting back into the workout groove is kicking my butt.  I didn't manage a workout yesterday because I feel asleep on the sofa at 8:00, which is so not like me... I'm feeling a little more with it today and hopefully things keep getting more positive from here. The 1-2-3 push-ups I found for this workout were killer, plus my head was not into the ninjas which is way I could only coordinate as many as I did.
Surfer : 11, 9, 10, 10
Round Kick and Knee Up Right: 14, 13, 12, 122
Round Kick and Knee Up Left: 13, 14, 14, 13
1-2-3 push-ups : 12, 11, 11, 11
Ninja: 2, 3.5, 3, 3

New 300 Rep Workout

I haven't been feeling 100% for the last few days...the kiddies have been sick, so I've been up in the night...I'm trying to fight off whatever is trying to settle in...like everyone else I'm starting to really wish for spring.  Today I went rock climbing/bouldering again...hopefully I will not be as sore as the last time...I really tried to use my legs and the momentum of my body to move around on the walls.  As for the 300 reps...by the end my arms were done...I had to take a lot of breaks for the hanging knee ups and pull-ups because my fingers and hands were just so tired.  I finished this workout in 32:28 mins.  I saw the workout for 1100 reps...which is mind boggling...one day soon it would be a fun challenge.

Legs and Cardio Challenge

February always seems to be a month that although is the shortest one in the calendar seems to feel the longest.  Life got a little busy but I'm back and wow my legs are tired.  I experimented with a few things to step up on...the kiddie stool, 2 steps, but in the end I decided to use the kitchen chair.  At first it didn't seem to bad, but by the second round I could have sworn the chair was getting taller :) Here are my times:
Round 1 3:48, Round 2 4:53, Round 3 4:41.
In between the rounds I did high knees, which definitely got the heart rate and sweat flowing.

Marine Corps. Workout Again

I got the green light today from the eye doc. confirming that nothing will explode during a workout so that was very reassuring.  That being said, taking those 9 days off really did a number to my endurance...man was I huffing and puffing, but it felt goooodddd to get back at it.  My legs and butt are going to feel it tomorrow.  I know a few of you are suffering from some major winter colds and I hope that your feeling better, but some of you I haven't heard or seen any activity from sooo, what's happening? Sometimes we look for the "right"time to start, but if you think about the idea of what we're trying to do...there is never a time like that..except now.  The idea is to fit it into our lifestyle which will always be busy and full of other things to do, but we're worth that time to look after our well being.   I hope to see a few more of you taking up this challenge.
Sandbag right w/cargo 8, 7, 9, 6
Plank push-ups 7,7,7,5
Sandbag left  w/cargo 10, 8, 6, 6
Plank push-ups 7,7,5,5.5

part 2, 3;34...3:39
I was a bit confused on this part...as to what completed a whole set, so I did the side kicks, roll, walking push-up, plank side jumps, roll, walking push-up, side kicks...that was one set and I did 5 sets like this..

Mini squats right w/cargo 22,21,25,22
super girl push-ups 6,5,5,5
Mini squats left w/cargo 21,22,20,21
super girl push-ups 5,5,5,5

1/2 Marine Corp Workout

Well like I said yesterday I was going to do the Marine Corp workout today, which I attempted.  Half way through part 2 with the plank side to sides I'm guessing it was from the sweat and physical labour that my eyes started to sting and get blurry.  Well, that kind of freaked me out and then I got visions of my corneal flaps separating and well...I have a very vivid imagination...so I stopped.  Tomorrow I go for another checked up and will the get the official go ahead from the eye Doc. That will set my mind and eyes at ease so I can concentrate on the task at hand.  So hopefully tomorrow I will have full results to post for this workout. till then.

Marine Corps. Workout

Today I tried my hand at bouldering and boy I thought I was in ok shape but not for climbing.  It's amazing how you can train for one thing...say running and go for miles and miles...then you hop into a pool to swim some laps thinking that you'll breeze by and.... that would be a negative.  That is the same for bouldering...my fingers, hands and forearms are so stiff and sore...they were actually almost numb after a 1/2 hours of climbing the walls...I couldn't even get them to open a knotted string on a pair of pants.  It was a blast though and a great activity to do with the kids. My 4 and 7 year old are like monkeys and by the time we were driving home they were pooped...so instead of them driving you up the wall, make them climb up a few :)  As for this workout...I'll tackle it tomorrow...I'm still working the kinks out of my hands and arms. Proceeding with caution...the eyes handled the climbing, but we don't want to over do it...I hope everyone is feeling a little better...we need spring to come...I have noticed that it is still light out at 5:30, which is a great sign. Till tomorrow.

Legs On FIre Exercise Challenge

Today marks 1 full week after my surgery and I can actually see things pretty clearly now...and it's amazing and kind of disorientating at the the same time.  I still have old habits that I need to retrain myself for, like trying to take my glasses off before turning the lights off for bed, squinting to see the clock, and then reality and my brain clicks in.  A few more days and then I get to join you guys in the trenches again...maybe I'll jump in for the marine workout...it looks like fun :) Enjoy this one.

Ass Busting Workout

I hope everyone had a good day with the kids home and all this snow.  My workout was shoveling the sidewalk and driveway today...which by the looks of it could already use another go.  For some reason I was really feeling it in my right shoulder...all those burpes and a little shoveling had my shoulder aching...I'll blame it on my eyes...I'm sure there's a connection somewhere down the line :) If you've got this workout on your agenda today, let me know how it goes...

Ab-tastic Exercise Challenge

This time of year always seems out of balance.  The weather is crummy.  You might catch a few rays of sun every two weeks...and the cold just seems to drag the energy out of everyone.  Just think though, that spring really is just around the corner...we're already in February and everyone is doing a great job creating an active lifestyle, so when spring arrives we'll be all set to tackle the gardening, swimming, hiking, biking...the fun is endless.  The doom and gloom..stuffy noses and constantly cold feet will melt with the snow. I'm counting the days down until I can start posting my results for these workouts.  Today I just cleaned the studio in the basement, which, trust me was an obstacle of both stuff and nerves...lots of mind over matter....Let me know how you all did with this one.

Hot Body Beach Workout

I went for a frigid brisk walk tonight with a group of girlfriends...about 25 mins.  It was nice to get out and socialize and get some fresh air after taking it easy for the last 4 days.  I did wear my protective eye wear though, and it liked like I was ready to preform some sort of science experiment along the way..oh well I only get one set of eyes...The first month is almost over as we venture into February.   Time will fly and before we know it, it will be May 24th and time to open up the pool and enjoy some summer fun and sun.... ahhhhhhhh, feel that vitamin D.  The closest I'll get to that at the moment is to watch the video for this workout.

Sexy Legs Exercise Challenge

Hey everyone, hope that your all keeping on track.  Just watching the training for this challenge has my legs burning, so I'll be thinking about y'all when your doing this one.  The surgeon said I should be ok to start training again after a week, since it's something I've been doing for a while now...maybe can't work to the full max. for another week, but it will be nice to get moving again.  My back is getting sore from "resting" my eyes...which I know is important :) Have fun and hopefully it will leave you feeling energized.

I have a little screen time today to work the eyes, so I thought I'd get you all ready to enter your comments for this workout.  It looks fun...can't wait to see how everyone did. Remember to keep focused and keep pushing on..

Pike Press Challenge

I have to agree with another Bodyrocker who posted a comment on the bodyrock web site stating that she thought she read the instructions wrong...and I fully agree, after 10 reps I was thinking that 10 minutes of this is really going to be GREAT FUN :(...Steve agreed...it also helps if you start the timer..whoops.  I noticed that around 20 reps...I was able to complete 80 reps in 10 minutes..Steve's results were 80 reps plus 45 knee push-ups...the arms were a shaking after this...but at least I can walk up the stairs now.  Always look on the bright side.  After tomorrows workout I'll still be posting my active rest actives...and then in the second week of "eye"recovery I'll start picking up some of the less stressful exercises from the bodyrock site...keep up the great dedication everyone. This down time will give me a chance to concentrate on my tribal fusion belly dancing.  Here's a taste of that http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gnYYK07lGFc&feature=related. Rachael Brice is amazing.  She moves like a snake.

Push Back- Exercise Challenge

Today I am gingerly moving around the house trying not to make any sudden movements that would jar any muscles of my backside...did you know even standing still requires those muscles :(  It took a bit for my body to ease into this challenge, being a little tender from the last few.  Maybe I'm doing something wrong?..or right...Steve sat out of this one claiming he needed all his lower extremity pain free for his squash game on Wednesday...It took me 16 minutes for this challenge, and then I did some core work on the stability ball...trying to stretch things out a bit.  Boy a hot tub would sure be nice right about now.  It is true what they though,  if your muscles are sore a workout helps relieve the pain by increasing the blood flow and speeding up recovery...something to keep in mind while your pushing through.

Break Free Workout

My buttocks are going to want to break free from my body soon and I can see that the fun is still coming for tomorrow's squats and leg lifts...goodie...My workout partner bailed on me for this workout, but Cargo make the workout oh so much fun by adding her 30lbs of help.  My lower back muscles are so sore along with my core.  Here is my results:
Backward lunge with kicks,13,13,13,13,13,14
6 min. interval, 24 reps
Backward Lunge with kicks,14,14,14,13.5,14,13
6 min. interval, 24 reps.

Exercise Challenge - Passoniate Side Lunge Jumps

Where does the passionate fit into this workout...I mean, I was uncoordinated for the first set, I was sweating, the thighs were burning...hmmm interesting...I was able to do this training first thing this morning which was nice after that first cup of java...felt fresh and ready....after the 12 mins of lunges that left my legs feeling rather like jello I thought I would even things out by working on the upper half a bit with some chin-ups...I'm able to do 2 unassisted now and 8 more assisted. I'll be training everyday until Thursday and then after the eye surgery I have to take 2 weeks off. I hope I don't loss to much strength.  It's always amazing how much time it takes to gain and so little to loss. Lunge results, 19,31,30,33,31,31,31,30,33,30,30,29,29,30,30,32,34,36.

Beach Workout

No sun was required to feel a burn in this workout...our poor quads are getting picked on this week.  I had my workout partner and Cargo with me for this one...Cargo was doing her part as the dead weight and the workout partner, well...I think he was trying to dance while doing the crab reaches to Lady Gaga...Laughing and trying to complete these workouts is not recommended unless you can keep it to the 10 secs of rest...we did the 3 rounds and then at the end did the 4 minutes of interval training with the jump squats. Here are our results:
Kim, 13,12,12,12,12,12,12,13
Steve,13,10,12,11,9,8,10,11

Exercise Challenge - 300 Killer Squats

Walking is a little slow today and sitting isn't really that comfortable.  At first I thought that 300 squats wouldn't be that bad...ya I know...I'm shaking my head too, but you know, spread throughout the evening in sets of 20...who would of thought that you can sweat so much by simply standing in one spot...not moving your feet at all and just lowering your butt to the ground and back-up...and on, and on, and on...by 200 my legs were shaking.  My buddy Cargo came along for the ride at 30lbs.  I did get to 300, and then tried to peel my pants off my thighs..a few more challenges like that and for sure I will be able to squeeze 1 one legged pistol out, i think...remember to keep looking forward on your down and up for the squat. I found this helped keep my form.

Workout Mash-up!

Ok, I've changed my mind to the "avoid" exercise from pull-ups to one legged squats...At the moment they are impossible, -at the moment-, I think I might become a bit obsessed to master these.  I could only go half way down. I tried the full one, got all they way down, and no getting back up.  So another challenge.  When your done you'll feel this in your gluteus maximus, medius and minimus for sure :) My results:
Snowboarder : 22, 20, 22
Pistol w/kick left: 5, 5, 5
Pistol w/kick right: 4, 4, 4
Push-up w/ lunge combo: 18 full form in 8 minutes
Shelf Butt Lift: 17, 16, 13
Pistol left; 3, 3, 2
Pistol right: 2.5, 3, 3

Exercise Challenge - Pull-Ups

Yep, definitely not one of my favourite exercises, but like it was said all the more reason not to avoid it.  I did the 3 sets of 5, and it's amazing how I feel this as much in my core as in my arms and shoulders.   I wanted to let everyone know that I have been sending replies to the comments that you've been making but I'm not sure where the replies are being sent.  So I'm going to start to put a comment on the blog instead. I really haven't been snobbish or anything :) Enjoy this one, and remember to breath.

Get up and Step Up - Exercise Challenge

Well I didn't get this workout done...I had to get my eyes dilated yesterday because I will be getting laser surgery next week so this was for the pre-op stuff.  I didn't think the effects would last so long, but by 8:00pm I still couldn't read anything or see anything up close and I had a headache from trying so I took that as a sign and went to bed.  Needless to say I feel very well rested.  I look forward to seeing everyone results for this workout.

Swimming In My Own Sweat Workout

Well that's the truth...BURPEE'S are a Kick A@$ workout, and yes Steve and I were swimming in puddles of exhaustion and sweat. I did this workout a few weeks ago when the reps were going the other way and I thought just maybe it would be easier when you start at the larger reps and work your way down...and it was a little.. for this workout it took me 25:01 using full form and for the swings I used "Cargo" at 20lbs. Steve's time was 26:58 with some improvising on the burpees and 30 lbs kettlebell for the swings. On the last few sets he did 4 walkout burpees and then pushups from his knees, but he finished. This one's definitely a mind thing because it seems to go on and on. Remember to press on :) or should I say Burpee on....

5 Times a Day

Eatting. There's a posting in the bodyrock web site under food and diet posted October 10th/2010 that discusses this in detail.  This method of fueling our bodies works and I hope that everyone who is pushing through these workouts are adopting that part of the lifestyle to.  This will help to keep up our energy reserves for the day.  Try packaging up fruit, veggies and nuts for when you're on the go.  I keep a bag of almonds in the glove box so I always have something to munch on.  Apples, bag of baby carrots, those little cucumbers, trail mix...just some quick ideas. Keep up the great work.

Hot Curves - Bodyweight Exercise Challenge

It would be interesting to see what the difference in performance would be from doing this workout in the morning vs. the evening.  I think regardless it would still leave my heart pounding up my throat.  Everything else stayed down.  Complete 40 sets in 10 mins.  My thighs are burning and it feels like they've grown...hopefully I can get my pants past them :) Have a good sweat...feel the burn.

Side Burpees - Exercise Challenge

The fact that I still can't bend my legs to put my pants on or get in the car without grimacing pretty much sums up the enthusiasm for the burpees.  My body surprised me and after the first one when I didn't land on my face in a heap on the floor.  Had my workout partner with me this time, which helped push me :) Completed the 60 full form in 9 mins 10 seconds.  Steve's results 9 mins 26 seconds.

Just wanted to say that everyone is doing AWESOME and your still all smiling and keeping your sense of humour :) The first 3 months are always to hardest to push through.  Keep it up.  Remember this is a life time thing...so we have time to work our way there.

Cherry Cherry Boom Boom Workout

This has to be hands down the most brutal workout for me so far.  It left me contemplating how I was going to get down the stairs, my legs were shaking and my hip flexors refused to bend. Then once I got to the shower part, my arms wouldn't lift...which left me in an interesting predicament to wash my hair.  Mountainer Climbers sure are a package wrapped in awesome and killer, and this workout sure targets those hip flexors until they can go no more.. Steve, the lucky ducky missed this one however because he had a squash game. My results:
Mountain Climber: 109, 87, 60, 70
Single Leg raise :15, 14, 11, 11
Mountain Climber: 100, 85, 79, 80
Sand Bag Squash: 18, 17, 16, 15 ( with my buddie "Cargo")
Mountain Climber: 96, 80, 80, 80
Tricep Knee Raises: 15, 13, 12, 10

Exercise Challenge - Sandbag Sit-ups and Hell Week

I need to name my ricebag...become one with the "ricebag" :) If you have any good suggestions let me know...Maybe "cargo"...one of those unisex names...anyways...100 sit-ups with my 35 lb Cargo...near the end I really had to push to get all the way up...feelin it already in my abs, forearms, shoulders and back...and they were finally feeling a little better from all those pull-ups....Remember to breath and Core Tight.

Exercise Challenge - Hit Your Butt

Spread these out into sets of 10 for each leg, between baking and doing the dishes.  Only got stuck on the down twice.  I didn't do the skipping, but will go the max on the next workout.  I found using a chair behind me to make sure my butt was going back and my knees not forward worked really well. till tomorrow.

MMA Workout (Major Muscle Apocalypse)

Wow.. is.. all I..can .say..between the heavy breathing and sweating.  The bonus for this workout was I had a partner in crime, which was fun.  Boy did he pick a day to start.  INTENSE, but we both finished. If he wants to expand on his experience he can on his own free will.  It's nice to see this spousal partner workout lifestyle happening.  To have another topic to discuss with each other than the usual kids, bills etc..is refreshing and fun...almost like dating again, but the torturous part coming from the workout...I like it. I got my sandbag in the mail for Christmas from Steve, so we picked up some rice and filled her up with 35lbs worth. Our Results:
Steve:
Left Side Leg Squat: 9,9,10,10, 10, 10, 10, 6, 8, 12
Right Side Leg Squat: 10,10,10,10,10,9,10,7,8,12
Burpees: 6,7,6,7,7,7,7,4,5,6
Pull-ups: 7,8,9,7,6,5,4,3,0,6 (Steve used the dip station for the reverse pull-ups)

Me:
Left Side Leg Squat:9,8,8,9,9,8,7,7,8,9
Right Side Leg Squat:10,9,10,8,9,9,9,8,9,8
Burpees:5,5,5,5,5,5,5,4,4,5
Pull-ups:6,6,6,5,5,5,,5,5,7 (first one in sets unassisted, others chairs assisted, using pull-up bar, which is still hanging :)

Exercise Challenge - Hanging Knee Raises

This one could have been called "how long can you hold on", cause my hands were on fire...felt this in my forearms and hands and shoulders, and when that numbed up my abs started their protest. Because all the doors in our house have old style mouldings we had to get crafty on how to hang my pull up bar.  My hubby rigged it up and reassured me that the 2 screws acting as the "door frame" will be fine...so far he's right. My time was 2:45 mins. As for the skipping I figured that vaccuming the whole house and washing the floors and running up and down the stairs cleaning up my "sorting" piles will act as the cardio today.

007 Workout (Quantum of Sweat)

I had to read the directions for this workout a few times...and after whipping myself with the rope then almost taking down my light fixtures, I decided that I would improves and just do the hand motions using an exercise band stretched behind my back to give some resistance.  I'll take the skipping to the great outdoors and practise some control.  They say most things are like riding a bike from when you were a kids but apparently, not skipping for me.  Or I could place some blame on the skipping rope. Oh well another challenge to master. Have fun with this one, my results:
Round 1 left leg 96, right leg 99, 6 1/2 roll overs, 6 roll overs
Round 2 left leg 92, right leg 96, 6 roll overs, 6 roll overs

Round 1 jack jump 52, reverse push-up w/kick 12
               jack jump 52, reverse push-up w/kick 12
Round 2 jack jump 54, reverse push-up w/kick 12
                               50,                                         11

Do it. Do it. Exercise Challenge

Here is the first post of many...lets have three cheers, and a really good stretch.
All I can say is that I'm really enjoying my new workout gloves...comfort for all those reverse push-ups, plus they look pretty cool. So results...

100 squats, 100 reverse push-ups, in 12 minutes, completed.

Remember to keep your core tight through all the exercises and for the squats, butt back and never have your knees go over your toes. til tomorrow.
